A reader recently wrote this, "You've blogged a lot about a weight loss plateau and I'm stuck. I've tried changing up my exercise routine and adding different things into it but it won't budge." Here's my suggestion: write down everything you eat for a week. My guess is that you're either not being completely honest about the foods you've eaten this week or you've gotten too much into a habit of eating the same healthy foods. If you keep a food journal you'll be able to remain vigilant about what you're eating and determine the cause. We are creatures of habit. For example, even with my JC food I tend to gravitate towards the same foods that I like more than others. Even my fruits, veggies, and salad dressing are pretty much the same every time. I've found that if I do something as minute as change the salad dressing or incorporate a different fruit that I will break through my plateau. After you have done a weeks worth of journaling anazyle what your cause was. Did you still "cheat" and have a handful of this or that which has now added up to several calories over your limit? Have you been eating the same exact diet for a month now and you need something new? Since our bodies do not like change it requires them to work harder. Try something for a week and see if it pays off.
